About the Project

This artwork is inspired by the terracotta Raaschakra found on the walls of the Shyamrai Temple in Bishnupur. A recurring motif in Bengal temple architecture, the Raaschakra depicts scenes from Krishnalila—stories from Lord Krishna’s life. At its heart, Krishna dances with Radha, encircled by gopinis in rhythmic motion. I reinterpreted this medallion-like composition through folk-inspired lines and forms, celebrating devotion, movement, and storytelling through pattern.
