About the Project
This artwork centres around Mirabai, the 16th-century mystic poet and devoted follower of Lord Krishna. Born into a Rajput royal family in Rajasthan, Mirabai’s life and poetry reflect deep spiritual longing and love for Krishna. The circular composition seamlessly blends storytelling and symbolism: the topmost ring illustrates the legend of Krishna lifting Govardhan Hill to protect the people of Braj. At the same time, the inner circle depicts Krishna joyfully playing the flute with his companions. Inspired by devotional themes, the piece celebrates divine love, resilience, and grace.
