About the Project
Here, I reimagined the Rath Yatra through the lens of Bengal’s Alpana folk art. The figures are inspired by terracotta temple panels of Bengal. The chariot is based on the ‘deula’ shape seen in the architecture of the Rath. I combined these elements with decorative Alpana motifs. The composition reflects the ritual and celebrates the vibrant public procession of the Rath Yatra.
