Hello and welcome!
I’m Sweta Roy Choudhury- an artist and illustrator working across children’s illustration, Indian art, and surface design.
Right from childhood, pencils, crayons, scissors, coloured paper, and sketchbooks have been my constant companions. Drawing has always been how I understand stories, ideas, and the world around me.
This website brings together my illustration and surface design work across children’s narrative illustration, Indian art, and surface pattern design.
My creative journey includes developing visuals for marketing collaterals, children’s educational books, and app design in full-time roles. These experiences shaped my approach to clarity, structure, and visual problem-solving. However, my primary focus is illustration and surface design — where storytelling, symbolism, and form come together most naturally in my work.
I work through an analog-to-digital process, beginning with hand-drawn sketches and inked studies, and refining them digitally. This allows warmth, rhythm, and intention to remain present in the final artwork.
I am currently open to:
- Children’s publishing and narrative illustration projects
- Illustration inspired by Indian art, culture, and heritage
- Surface design, pattern development, and licensing collaborations
If you’re an art director, editor, brand, or collaborator interested in thoughtful, story-led imagery, I’d be happy to connect.
