About the Project
This collection features decorative designs inspired by Alpana, the traditional folk art of Bengal. Some follow mandala forms, while others draw from Alpana motifs and terracotta temple plaques. Traditionally drawn with rice paste, Alpana patterns adorned floors during religious rituals, carrying the hopes and aspirations of rural women of Bengal.
